Razorlight to headline Eden Session, July 9
Razorlight will headline an Eden Session on July 9. The London based four-piece are the latest top name to add to the 2009 Sessions line-up of Kasabian (July 4), The Kooks (July 18) and Oasis (July 14 - sold out).
Razorlight, fronted by the irrepressible one time Vogue cover-star Johnny Borrell, released their third studio album Slipway Fires in late 2008 and saw it reach number four in the UK album charts, led by the spectral piano ballad Wire to Wire.
The album follows 2004’s debut long player Up All Night, which peaked at number three and launched five top ten singles including Somewhere Else and Golden Touch. The NME and Q both then named them Best New Band.
Razorlight’s 2006 self-titled follow-up hit number one and featured the number two In The Morning and chart-topping phenomenon America.
The band, who played at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park in 2005 and Live Earth at Wembley Stadium in 2007, were nominated in the British Group category of the 2007 Brit Awards. America was nominated in the British Single category at the same awards.
Peter Hampel, Eden’s Creative Director, said: “With four bands confirmed already, this year’s Sessions sees some of the worlds’ greatest guitar bands descending on Cornwall. We’ve had our sights on Razorlight for the last three years and they will be a real highlight.”
Those who want to be guaranteed Sessions tickets can sign up to Eden's priority membership scheme, Inside Track Premium https://www.edenbookings.com/insidetrack/ . This costs £15 and guarantees members the option to buy two tickets for each Session for a week before they go on general release.
